The Data Protection Act (2020) protects the privacy rights of individuals in Jamaica.
It applies to any person or organization that collects, stores, or uses personal data — called Data Controllers or Data Processors.
The Information Commissioner oversees compliance with the Act.
Personal data = any information that can identify a person (e.g. name, TRN, address, phone number, photo, etc.).
